UPDATE 2/18/2018: Angelica Earl has been called back to work at the Health Insurance Marketplace and is currently an employee.
I'm one of the lucky employees that got laid off.
As an employee at the Health Insurance Marketplace, I had the privilege of speaking with hundreds of you about your premiums, your inability to qualify, and how absolutely thrilled you are to finally have insurance.
With the Affordable Care Act, people were finally given the opportunity to have insurance if they have a preexisting condition. Others gained insurance before something happened and told me Obamacare saved their life.
States that have not expanded medicaid, like Missouri, have an income gap where people who have below a specified annual income will not qualify for the Marketplace. Others experienced huge rate increases when companies switched to minimum essential coverage. Even more are finding it difficult to have full time employment due to loopholes in the current healthcare laws.
But there's a problem in Missouri. In the last few months I began hearing stories about life saving procedures being denied by the insurance companies.
Some feel that Obamacare can be fixed, that the budget is in such a huge deficit that we can't possibly afford universal healthcare. Two of those happen to be US Senators representing Missouri. This is not okay.
When everyone can finally go to the doctor, we'll be able to treat mental health issues, preexisting conditions, women, the elderly, sudden life threatening diseases or situations, veterans, drug addicts, and the homeless, We are the only industrialized nation that does not ensure healthcare to everyone.
With my plan, healthcare for everyone is absolutely possible and I will work for you to make it happen!
